Blue Ridge Mountains – Linville Gorge, North Carolina – #1

My best friend, Jason, and I rolled up all of our change (literally) to take this trip. My birthday is September 15th and his is October 1st, so we planned and took the trip between our birthdays this year 🙂

A Viny Ground Cover’s Pink Blooms on the Rocks

I LOVE the way a vast multitude of plants come right up out of the rocks here and they are so very vibrant 🙂

Fall Colors at Linville Gorge, North Carolina

The fall colors in the Blue Ridge Mountains are AMAZING!

    • Thank you so very much, Ellie! Getting down into the gorge was a piece of cake, but getting back up the mountain and back to our vehicle was not so much lol It was well worth it though! 🙂

In Deep Thought

Jason is a very deep, spiritual being and he has a lot on his plate right now. Any prayers and/or positive vibes sent in his direction would be greatly cherished and appreciated. As I have iterated, that smile means a lot to me! <3

    • Thank you so very much, Paul! <3 You're awesome! ? Sending positive vibes in your direction also! We're hoping to get back to exploring again soon. In our next trip, we'd love to see the very intriguing Brown Mountain Lights and go gem mining.

I think I messed up with my last comment in that I failed to hit reply rather than just comment…

      • no worries sometimes this site can be complicated. More than once I’ve replied to the wrong person’s comment especially when reading on my phone. Anyway glad you’re here and looking forward to reading more from you on Virily.

Building the Fire

It took us a great deal of time to find some dry firewood here, but we finally did and Jason built a great campfire which kept us warm all night. It gets quite chilly here at night by September.

Many more photographs of Linville Gorge, North Carolina, and the surrounding areas are to come in future galleries. I seem to have run out of space here. I guess that's easy to do that when you love your subjects 😉

Until next time, Brightest Blessings to you and yours! <3

Jason! 🙂

Introducing my best friend and partner, Jason Powell. Jason and I have been good friends since we were 14. We attended high school together at Northampton Senior High and have spent many years together in political and social activism.

A Happy Jason in the Wild 🙂

Here's Jason in his element (the wilderness). While I would most likely be considered a bit more of a homebody, I would follow him anywhere just to see that smile 🙂

Jason just joined Virily today. To network with him, check out his brand new profile.

    • Thank you so very much, Barbara! Jason has a lot of great photography on his blog, as well as some historical and animal kingdom knowledge. He thrives in the great outdoors 🙂

Happy Yellow Wildflowers

Vibrant wildflowers of every color of the rainbow thrive beautifully in Linville Gorge. It's truly amazing how they pop up out of the rocks in every direction.

Smoke on the Water

In this photograph, you can see the smoke coming from our campfire.

    • We camped here for one night. From our tent, all you could hear was the falls. It was a deeply spiritual, amazing experience. I’m ready to go again! I highly recommend it 🙂 Thank you for stopping by, Albert. It’s a pleasure to meet you!

    • Thank you so very much, Barbara! I highly recommend it, especially in the fall with all the beautiful colors. I want to go in the springtime next. From what I’ve read, there are a lot of white, pink, and purple wildflowers in bloom then.

  1. I absolutely love the Blue Ridge mountains and go every chance I get.
Beautiful photos. The system wouldn’t allow me to upvote so I will
    be back and try again.
