Bernardine Garden is a lovely park that is located right in the heart of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
It sits between Gediminas Hill, the Vilnele River, and the Bernardine Monastery. This park was designed by artists Vladislovas Strausas in the XIX century.
The park has an alpinarium, a pond, a central square and Belvedere Hill.
There are fountains, a rose garden, a musical fountain and children’s playgrounds.
The central square includes the musical fountain which plays rhythms from popular classical and modern pieces.
Visitors to the park can see the ginko tree, the yellow dogwood, the Canadian fir, black pine and three of the oldest oak trees in Vilnius. The oldest oak is about 300 years old and can be seen near the entrance.
