Romania is a beautiful country placed in southestern Europe, on the western shores of Black Sea, the largest country on the Balkan Peninsula, a country where all forms of relief are combined, with a lot of great natural beauty, diversity and an old and rich cultural heritage. It’s known for the large forested area of Transylvania, for the legend of Dracula’s realm, for the Carpathian arch ringing its surface, as well for the preserved medieval cities with fortified churches and castles.

Balea Lake is a glaciar lake located at over 2000 m altitude in the Fagaras Montains, in the central Romania. In 1932 the lake and the places around were declared scientific reservation. In 2006 was it built in the nearby of lake the first Ice Hotel in Estern Europe, build like an igloo with 16 places.

#4 The medieval fortress Rasnov
The medieval fortress Rasnov is a historic monument built between 1211 and 1225 during the rule of the Teutonic Knights in Burzenland, as a part of a defense system of Transylvanian villages exposed to outside invasions.
Inside the citadel can be found a museum with exponates of the local history, containing several sections, such as: document photocopies, weapons, tools, stamps and period objects.

Road made of serpentine in the Oriental Carpathians, among the limestone walls of the rocks. There, under the rocks can be found beautiful caves and potholes. The watercourses create other gorges in turn. The road started to be built in 1912 and now is a bridge between Transylvania and Moldavia.
#7 The Sphinx- Bucegi Mountains Monument
The Sphinx from the Bucegi Natural Park located in Bucegi Montains is a megalith anthropomorph with 8 m in height and 12 m in width, placed at over 2200 meters altitude and it was named so due of its resemblance to the Egyptian sphinx. Its form is the result of wind erosion, although there are many legends telling about a Dacian human contruction or a work of aliens. Around The Sphinx can be observed also the Babele Complex, a complex of rock formations.
#8 The Peles Castle – King’s Residence- Sinaia
The Peles Castle was built as the summer residence of the Romania's kings. Its building started during the reign of Carol I, the first king of Romania. Actually is considered as one of the most important historical buildings from the second half of the 19th century in Romania, as well in Europe.
#9 Voronet Monastery
The Voronet Monastery is a medieval monastery and one of the famous painted monasteries in Southern Bukovina. It's called as "The Sistine Chapel of the East", due of the great fresco on the western façade called the Last Judgment. It was built in 1488 by the Moldavian Prince Stephen the Great.
#10 The Bears Cave
The Bears Cave is a wonder of nature placed in Apuseni Montains. It hosts the fossils of the cave bear that disappeared 15,000 years ago, as well as the black goat fossils, the lion and the hyena cave. The cave is not completely open for turists, but only to researchers, to protect the natural reservation.
