A stunning gothic masterpiece right at the heart of old Barcelona. If you visit the Sagrada Familia you must also fit in the Cathedral. It isn’t free to enter but this is the same for so many impressive European Cathedrals now. There were people selling cheap wraps (1.5€) to those in the queue who didn’t appear to be covered. Once inside you have a huge gothic place of worship to explore with side chapels, cloisters and monuments. You can even get up on the roof in a lift at no extra cost for views over the whole of this beautiful city from the mediterranean to the hills inland, you even get a unique view of the Sagrada Familia in the distance from here. Don’t be put off by the dress code and having to pay to get in, there are millenia of history in these magnificent walls.
