Abraham Lincoln and Sinking Spring Farm’s Water

We are now in in Hodgenville, Kentucky visiting the National Historic Park of the Birthplace of Abraham Lincoln.  His father Thomas bought this piece of land and it had a famous fresh water spring on it near the house. This was Sinking Spring. It was not large or deep but provided valuable crystal clear fresh water. Lincoln was born on this farm in a small log cabin and he took his first drink of water from this spring. There are now steps going down to the spring so you can go right down and look closely at it.
