A visit to Ireland in 2016

My wife and I had our honeymoon in Ireland back in 1986. We went back to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in 2016, although we visited a different part of the country.

These photos are of the area quite close to the cottage we rented. I have plenty more from our trip if people would be interested in seeing them!

Our cottage for a week in County Mayo

The smoky chimney is thanks to the peat fire - it was April and not particularly warm! The stream ran down to what was virtually a private beach.

Clare island

Clare Island is in the mouth of Clew Bay. There are boats trips one can take to the island, although we didn't go.

This is a famous mountain in Irish folklore, and there is a well-worn footpath to the top, although we didn't take it!
