365 Day Photography Challenge – Day 22 – Mission Bay Fountain

I was mainly absent yesterday but my time was fully spent in other activities..

This is Mission Bay Fountain by Auckland’s waterfront by the Waitemata Harbour. (pronounced Why – ee- tay – mah-tah).

Reverend Samuel Marsden came and preached here in the early days and he was known as “the whipping priest”, I guess he was thinking he was doing good by whipping people out of anger, but in my experience whipping people does not bring about the best qualities.

However in the case of 2 small boys running across a busy street with cars about, better to have 2 sucked bums than 2 dead boys! I guess sometimes a quick smack may save their life.
