Polaroid Land Camera Model 95: The first instant picture camera

Polaroid Land Camera – Model 95 (2018-06-20 12-45-40a)

The Cracker Barrel Restaurant is located at 730 North Lyford Road in Rockford, Illinois.

The Polaroid Land Camera Model 95 was the first of the company’s instant picture cameras. It was introduced in 1948 and approximately 1.5 million of them were manufactured.

The photo was taken with a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera and edited using Luminar 2018. I used the erase tool to get rid of a distraction on the right side. Then I added the Accent-AI filter. I used the Tone filter to lower the SmartTone and whites and raise the contrast and shadows. I boosted the clarity and used Dodge & Burn to darken the area around the camera’s lens.

    • Thanks, Carol. The first time I ever went to one I figured all the signs and other objects were reproductions. Then I found out that they were genuine. Ever since then I’ve tried to visit every one of them I could. Unfortunately, there are none by me.

      • Last time I checked, I was still able to get 620 film, though that was a couple of years ago and I don’t remember where I saw it. I no longer have the camera, so I didn’t go any further.
