How Writing Sites Destroy Themselves – part 33

To  protect yourself from the depredations of online writing sites is not  as simple as you think.

You   want to get your writing out there and you want to be paid for it. You know that the site has the handle and you are holding the blade.

It  is one of the most horrible concepts, that  you, who do the work, are  treated like dirt, and those who profit from your work sit on  thrones; but it is true.

Unlike   real life where you can sue someone who has ripped you off, it is not  so simple online.  To sue a site, to even demand return of your  articles is not easily  done.

While you argue, they are earning, earning from YOUR work.

To give yourself a little toe up;  you can wear a bit of ‘armor’.

This doesn’t mean you will be paid, this means that the site can not steal your work.

  1. About 9 months ago, I joined another site that has been around for over 8 or 9 years. The site still pays its members. Personally, I have redeemed over $250. and about to redeem another $25.

I suppose they have a system that really worked. Although, from what I have read, they made a lot of changes over the years. I guess those changes were necessary to counter those who tend to abuse their system
