How Writing Sites Destroy Themselves – 70

When a particular site  first began his site, there was moderation and  ‘quality’ monitoring.  This insured that the best work would be spotlighted on  the front page.  This would encourage others to visit the site, to join, etc.

This was the lure;  Excellent work on the opening page, stuff people wanted to read.

It didn’t matter who published it, or when. The item stayed on the front page as long as it was the best.

This attraction of excellent work is of benefit to the site.

A newbie pops on, sees ‘must read’ items, begins to read and those who can write know they have to do their best.
