Getting Rid of the Windows 10 Notifications

19 Dec 2017

The recent update to Windows 10 comes with a new annoyance, at least in my opinion. I hate those notifications you get in the lower right-hand corner. Email, Facebook, Twitter,…. I’ve already seen most of them by the time I get the notification anyway.  Fortunately, they are easy to get rid of.

  1. Click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner of your screen (the left side of your Task Bar unless you’ve moved yours elsewhere).
  2. Click on the Settings icon. Of the three small icons on the lower left corner, stacked one above the other, it is the middle one that looks like a gear.
  3. This brings up the Windows Settings screen. Click on System. On mine, it’s the first option.
  4. Select ‘Notifications & actions.’ It should be the second option.
  5. Scroll through the Notifications options and turn off the ones you don’t want to see.
  6. Click on the X in the upper right corner to close the Setting screen.

That’s it. That’s all it takes.
