South Florida stuns Illinois with a come from behind victory at Soldier Field

I actually missed this weekend’s game at Soldier Field, but maybe it was a good thing because the Illinois Fighting Illini lost! Typical me being a procrastinator, I procrastinated on purchasing my ticket for the Fighting Illini versus South Florida Bulls game. When it came down to the wire ticket prices increased and I did not think that it was worth the purchase because I did not think our team would have gave a good battle.

The game actually went better than I expected, the Fighting Illini dominated the first half of the game, but let off the accelerator during the second half, which gave the South Florida Bulls a chance to catch up in the fourth quarter.

Whatever the Fighting Illini did during that first half, they need to continue doing that in the future because it worked!  For a team that lacks 4 to 5 tier talented players on its roster, but has good quality 1 to 3 tier football players they did an amazing job by holding the South Florida Bulls during the first, second and third quarters.

The Fighting Illini has also lost players due to injury and in-house suspensions building up to this showdown against the South Florida Bulls, which may have had a different result if those players would have been present in this game.

As a college football enthusiast, I noticed that they did their research by keeping the ball away from Terrence Horn, who previously had two kick returns against Georgia Tech during week 2. With what this Fighting Illini team brings, how can you be bitter at a program that does not get the top tier talent the program deserves.
