My NBA Draft Review 2017: Indiana Pacers

18.  T.J. Leaf – PF – UCLA.  6’10”, 225 lbs.  (16.3 ppg, 8.2 rpg, .466 3pt).

47.  Ike Anigbogu – C – UCLA.  6’10”, 252 lbs.  (4.7 ppg, 1.2 bpg).

52. Edmond Sumner – PG – Xavier.  6’5″, 170 lbs.  (15 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 5 apg).

Leaf will be an offensive threat due to his shooting range at the power forward position.  His ability to hit mid-range and long-range shots will hopefully offset his deficiencies at defense.  That explains why the Pacers drafted Anigbogu because his calling card is at defense.  At 6’10”, he is still athletically capable to make a defensive impact.

Sumner was going to be a sure first round pick, but he ending up tearing his ACL last season in college. He will need a full year to recover and to increase strength in order to deal with the physical nature of the NBA.

Grade:  C-.
