My NBA Draft 2017 Review: Denver Nuggets

#24 Tyler Lydon – PF – Syracuse.  6’9″, 220 lbs.  (13.2 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 2.1 apg, .395 3pt).

#49 Vlatko Cancar – SF – KK Mega Leks Serbia.  6’8″, 209 lbs.  (8.2 ppg, .407 3pt).

#51 Monte Morris – PG – Iowa State.  6’3″, 175 lbs.  (16.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 6.2 apg, .378 3pt).

Lydon is a stretch-four that is also willing to hit the glass.  This pick became necessary because the organization chose not to resign Danilo Gallinari.  Cancar is a stash pick who will not be ready for the NBA for the next two seasons.

Although Morris is the all-time assist-to-turnover ratio leader in NCAA basketball history, he slipped deep into the second round.  NBA scouts were sort of scared away by the weight, but he has proven that he can run the show as a four-year starter at Iowa State.

Grade:  B-.  Although the Nuggets made good picks, the dividends might not be seen for a few seasons.
