As many of us sports fans know, the odds of a college football player making it to the National Football League (NFL) is heavily against you.

One University of Mississippi punter named Mac Brown is doing his part to improve the lives in his community by running of all things a lemonade stand that is called Awesome Lemonade Stand or ALS.

Mac intended to raise around $500 dollars to raise funds to find a cure that is known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease which terminated the life of former New York Yankees first baseman Lou “Iron Horse” Gehrig who passed away from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or (ALS) in 1941.

The father of one of Mac’s friends has been diagnosed with ALS. Mac has been doing this lemonade business since he was in high school around the seventh grade.

Talk about an outpouring of support. So far the Awesome Lemonade Stand project has raised near $50,000 dollars to find a cure for the disease that is fatal.

Even though the University of Mississippi has many rivals in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) like Alabama, Mississippi State and Louisiana State University (LSU), they will admire the work of Mac Brown who is using his talents as a salesman in running a lemonade stand to raise funds to fight this terrible disease.
