LSU holds on to defeat Alabama

source

In the college football game of the season so far, the #2 LSU Tigers (9-0) held on to a 33-13 halftime lead to defeat #3 Alabama Crimson Tide 46-41 in an SEC West Division clash.

LSU gained momentum early in the first quarter after Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa fumbled the ball at the LSU five yard line.  LSU recovered the fumble and went 95 yards rather easily to take a 7-0 lead.  LSU then went up 10-0, but Jaylen Waddle returned a punt 77 yards to put Alabama back in the game towards the end of the first quarter only down 10-7.

In the second quarter, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow went to work dissecting Alabama’s defense.  At halftime, the Tigers were up 33-13.  However, Crimson Tide RB Najee Harris took over by scoring two touchdowns in a row to make the game 33-27 with about 14 minutes to play in the game.

For the rest of the game, LSU and Alabama scored two touchdowns apiece as LSU held on to win a thriller.  This win should move LSU up to #1 next week since the Tigers have beaten four teams ranked in the Top 10 this season.  Alabama has to hope that a bunch of teams lose in the next month in order to qualify for the College Football Playoff.

    • I like your top 4 – I have it LSU, OSU, Clemson, Alabama. I’m putting Ohio State second because the NCAA is attempting to rig the system again by banning Chase Young. I can’t rate Oregon after they blew that first game against Auburn.
