First run of the year

I finally laced up my running shoes today and completed my first run of the year, which just happened to be outside in thirty-degrees weather. Thirty degrees never felt so good when you are use to it being below zero at times, so best believe I welcomed this weather with open arms.

I was hoping the water in Lake Michigan was frozen, which was the reason why I headed there instead of in the inner portion of my neighborhood, but it still looked gorgeous with snow still being on the ground.

I kept my run route simple, and ran out to Chicago’s Berger Park in Edgewater neighborhood, and took pictures of the park itself and the Lakefront. With the trail portion of Berger Park still having snow on the ground it was not even slippery; just kind of mushy, so I was able to keep my pace normal.  In route back, I was disappointed because I tried to get a picture of this graffiti art on a building, but my phone completely froze once I hit the button. Bummer, but I hope you all enjoy these pictures of Berger Park and Lake Michigan.

    • Thank you! The most important tips I can give are to do little things like using the stairs when you go out; and keeping active on feet while doing normal tasks because it makes the return a lot easier.
