Classic Johnson Sea Horse Motor

So here we are exploring the great Glenn Curtiss Museum of Aviation in Hammondsport, N.Y. This museum in the Finger Lakes of Upstate, N.Y. has a lot of varied items. It has antique aviation items such as aircraft and their engines. It has antique motorcycles and boats representing the Finger Lakes. There were even exhibits representing the large wine making industry here.

This was a classic marine outboard engine by Johnson called the Sea Horse 16.

  1. We went lake fishing for trout with a Johnson trolling motor (larger than the Seahorse) when I was growing up. I still have a Mitchell 301 fishing reel with metal gears from those days. (The left handed model of the Mitchell 300) Johnson made very good and reliable motors.
