Cape Town Hiking Trail

Friday, 10.12.18

At 10 am, I drove to the Spectrum gym for a noon yoga class. When I arrived there, I was told by the front desk that today’s yoga class is cancelled. I asked about the Thursday morning class, and they haven’t found a new instructor for that yoga class. So, I decided to go upstairs and walk on the treadmill.

I decided to do the Cape Town South Africa trail, which is more like a slide show of the trail at different steps of the hike. It is a 3-mile trail, which is a 45-minute walk. It is a narrow street, along the coast of South Africa, in which the left side was the ocean and the right side was the rocky mountains. The area looked like a arid desert, filled with native plants, greenery, shrubs, and rocky structures. I even noticed a tunnel along the way, as well as reststop areas. (It wasn’t clear what there areas were, whether gas stations, restaurants, coffee shops, or restrooms). But it looks like a nice place to hike in real life. It seems very hilly area because the incline on my treadmill kept changing from a plus 9 to a negative number, and sometimes I was walking on a flat area. When I finished my 45-minute walk, I noticed that I burned 518 calories.

It kind of reminded me of California’s PCH coastal drive, which goes from Orange County to Los Angeles to San Francisco. I heard that PCH is a fun and scenic drive, but it is very long, for people looking for a fun road trip vacation over their summer break.

It is almost noon, in which is perfect timing for yoga class, if it wasn’t cancelled today. So, I decided to go home. I need to do some errands later.
