Are Baltimore Ravens football fans hypocritical?

The news this Saturday deals with the cynical football fans of the Baltimore Ravens who have stated to the ownership of the football team that If they sign former San Francisco 49ers and current free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick to a contract, they will boycott attending Baltimore Ravens home football games.

The funny thing about Ravens fans revolting if Colin Kaepernick who knelt during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner before the start of football games in 2016 as a form of a protest against police brutality against minorities caused football fans outside of San Francisco to boycott watching the National Football League (NFL) football games even though the football games competed against the elections for the position of President of the United States (POTUS) between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump.

Why do I call Ravens fans hypocrites is that they cheered former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice after he was accused of hitting his then fiancée Janay Palmer who is now his wife inside an elevator that was seen by a security camera inside a casino in Atlantic City in February 2014.

Ravens fans embraced former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis after his brush with the law in 2000. Now Kaepernick did not commit any crime against another human being with his protest against police brutality in 2016 which even though the majority of football fans did not agree with his stance since the argument is that artists, actors and sports stars should stick to doing their work and keep of politics unless it is during the campaign season.

Kaepernick may have a strike against him since it does not appear that many football fans or players think if he does land a job in the NFL as a backup quarterback this football season, he can help them win football games since his body of work with the 49ers in 2016 was nothing home to write about that he still can be a productive football player in 2017, even though he insists he will stand during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner this year.

It reminds me of the song title of Gary Puckett And The Union Gap “Let’s Give Adam And Eve Another Chance” on why Kaepernick deserves another chance to play football in the league this year if he has repented of his sin of not being a patriot.
