After almost 3 weeks vacation I’m finally back home. Although I spent a very nice vacation, I could hardly wait to return home. I returned almost in winter … the hills were already white with the first snow, and the temperature was also very low Today it was a beautiful day again, so I used it and visited my favorite place …. the lake Crnava, I have not seen it for a long time. I made a long walk around the lake along the forest. The view of the mountains, the lake and its surroundings was unique. I noticed that I missed this very much my landscape. As I walked around the lake, I noticed that many ducks returned to the lake. In the summer, they disappeared somewhere and only a couple of them floated on the lake. In the forest, however, I noticed quite a few species of mushrooms. I just photographed them because I do not know the mushroom well. At the end of the walk, I drank coffee and enjoyed peace.

The green lusciousness of your countryside is awe-inspiring! In South Africa, we’re experiencing a dreadful drought at the moment. The Northern Cape hasn’t seen one like it for over a century – the flower season has come with very few flowers for that part of the country, so that the tourists are cancelling in droves. The farmers are the people who are most badly hit, of course :(.

What is happening to you is sad … I am aware that I live in a beautiful country and that for now we do not have such problems as you ?

Living through it makes one stronger – the animals are the ones to really suffer, and that is the worst :(. We’re putting out dishes of water for the tortoises and birds, and generally becoming more aware than before of what a precious resource water is. I don’t think I’ll ever just let the bathwater run out again…
