Wacky Wednesday – The Magpie

Found at a Weymouth Park. He seemed to be eyeing me up

I was only going to take his photo.

It was OK he had his mate close by. There seems to be a pair at Weymouth

  1. To tell you the truth Pamela, I do not think I have ever seen a magpie. We have a lot of crows here in Canada and ravens but magpies… I am not sure. I know that they are in the crow family but that is all I know. Crows are noisy enough so if we had magpies here on top of crows I think I would be going mad with all their noisy talk… This magpie in the picture is magnificent and regal looking even though he might have been eyeing you with some mistrust. I guess the saying “strength in numbers” applies here if he or she felt better having his or her mate not far away…

  2. Great picture and I am not a fan of magpies lol. I tried with all my might one year not to let them nest is a tree right next to my bedroom window. I found that everyone in the family and neighborhood enjoyed watching me fight a battle I couldn’t win. They are very loud birds!
