Tiergarten is the largest open space in Berlin, lying close to the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. I visited it in the late afternoon on a fine autumn day.

This broad avenue cuts through Tiergarten, continuing the line of Unter Den Linden on the other side of the Brandenburg Gate. In the distance is Siegssaule, the triumphal column first erected in 1864 and moved to this site in 1938.
The road is not usually this clear! The traffic had been stopped to allow an official government car to have a clear run with Police escort!
