The beast from the east!

This photo I took this morning on my mobile phone at about 7 am. It was just starting to get light as you can see. I have to go to work early mornings, and it was snowing terribly, and had been throughout the night. They tell us on the news that the awful weather that has hit England has come from Russia and Siberia, and nick named it The Beast From the East. It really is a beast too! My fingers were so cold I thought they were going to fall off!

Thankfully the snow had stopped by mid-morning time, but there is still so much snow on the ground. Really, I don’t like it one little bit and can’t for it all to go! It’s terrible and the wind is making it feel so much more colder than it really is! How are things in your neck of the woods? Are you getting much snow?

  1. Looks very bleak and cold. No snow ever in Auckland New Zealand and I haven’t been in snow. I suppose it has it’s benefits and drawbacks. You can grow elderberry and cherry trees which you cant grow in Auckland. We can grow orange and lemon trees which you cant grow in England.

  2. Where we live Torrevieja Spain last year we had for 1 hour of snow. After 104 it was repeated. Local people do not know snow except for pictures.

  3. My bit of Leicestershire is certainly snowy this morning – the lawn is covered and there are a few flakes in the air.

Yesterday was interesting in that I travelled just down the road one mile – from Barlestone to the neighbouring village of Newbold Verdon. There was snow in Barlestone but hardly any in Newbold Verdon!

    • Yes, it’s surprising really how snow can travel. There’s been a lot in Great Yarmouth. It’s been a long time since we’ve had this much, normally it doesn’t hit the coastline quite so bad.
