Moving along with the Alphabet Photo Challenge, the letter I goes to Iris. I love flowers and especially wild blue irises. We had them growing in our back yard when we lived in Louisiana and the whole back section of our lot was covered with these wild irises. It was a beautiful scene. I wish that I had dug some up to move to our new (old) house in Mississippi.
I think I will make finding some irises one of my spring/summer goals so I can add some additional color to my yard.
Do you love flowers? Irises?
They are very pretty and pretty much a native flower to both Louisiana and Mississippi.
I love flowers. I have them wherever possible … in the garden, in the apartment, on the terrace …
Good for you! I don’t have any indoors or houseplants indoors except for an ivy. I would forget to water them when I worked and I lost them all. Now that I’m retired, I need to get some going again!
I am also retired and have more free time to dedicate to flowers.
Don’t you love it? I am so glad that I decided to get back into gardening.
They are beautiful in both colors and are very delicate.
They look delicate but are very hardy plants!
This is gorgeous! i love Irises.
Me too and all flowers! They bring joy to me.
They bring a lot of joy indeed 🙂
I have purple ones in my back yard at our house in Louisiana. I need to dig some up and plant them here in Mississippi!!
We have some miniature ones, they are very cute.
I bet they are cute and beautiful!
they are truly an amazing flower – we had them in Indiana. We haven’t added them in Maryland but we have less time now than we did then!
Time just slips away now days! I’m at home and retired and still don’t have the free time that I thought I would!
it really does, as if sand through our fingers!
That is very, very true! Makes me think of the saying, “Use your time wisely.”
my grandfather always used to say
“use my time wisely, otherwise I charge by the hour!”
That flower in the picture is beautiful. Thanks for sharing that with us.
Irises are one of my favorite flowers! The blue color is native to Louisiana I do believe.
