While I had often seen these buttes and rock formations off in the distance as I drove between Denver and Colorado Springs, I had never seen them up close. So, a few weeks ago, I ventured off the interstate to explore the area. Hence, I found myself hiking the Spruce Mountain Trail near Larkspur Colorado. While there were some longer routes, I did a 5.5 mile loop which offered plenty of sights and scenic overlooks. The trail is rated as moderate, and the surrounding pines provided a fair amount of shade throughout much of the hike. Below, you can checkout a few pictures from my adventure.
I love the shape of the stones
You are like me. Such stones make me wonder how God does things!
Great stone formation, although I would never attempt climbing it?
It’s a beautiful conglomeration.
