Winter here is not a date on the calendar. It’s snow on the ground. Hunting is in full bloom. It is the snow on the peaks and on the roof. It is the bugling of the elk and the crash of the antlers. It is that feeling that you have that it is going to freeze and the first hoarfrost of the season.
As soon as winter hits I display my large version of the picture above. It is a reminder that spring will come. There will be calves and maybe even triplets like these.The world will become new again.
