It is expected that Hurricane Harvey will be a Category 3 hurricane when it makes landfall somewhere along the Texas coast. This will make it the first major hurricane to hit the USA since Hurricane Wilma hit Florida on October 24, 2005, almost 11 years ago. This is the longest time without since we’ve kept records. (The previous record was 9 years.)
Very scary .. I hope safe for Texas.. ?
Tense prediction. Hopefully all the usual is well anticipated, and all Texans can avoid danger.
Just hope and pray that the people in the Texas area where Harvey will hit heed the warning from their officials to flee.
That’s an extremely scary storm! We don’t have TV, so we are list to the world news. Praying that everyone stays safe
You are right Gary, I hope it won’t be as bad as they are saying.
Oh wow, I hadnt seen the latest, that looks bad. Hold on to your hats! The whole coastline even above FL looks bad too.
I have a friend who is a professional meteorologist and an expert on severe weather and he just posted on his blog that the storm is becoming more organized which means more dangerous.
I hope there will be no disaster
Me too but, short of a miracle, it looks inevitable. I’m praying for a miracle.
Yup, it looks bad – lot’s of people have evacuated.
And there is no director of FEMA at the moment which is bad timing. I hope that doesn’t hurt the response much.
I’d forgotten about the lack of a FEMA director.
Turns out thought that I was wrong to say that – there is actually a director since sometime in June. I initially read that there was no director but that information was not up to date or was inaccurate. http://www.npr.org/2017/08/25/546216170/hurricane-harvey-first-challenge-for-president-trumps-fema-director – I was spreading fake news — OOPS
