I first saw photos of Canadian Geese at Lake Hakanoa, Huntly, in the Waikato district of New Zealand. At first I thought that they looked like Swans, but a type I did not know about.
These are Canadian Geese and I think they are very beautiful but there was a lot of them and so rather messy. It was a first time for the lake Hakanoa too, now I am more familiar with this lake.
Since then, I have seen a group of Geese up near Puketutu Island near Mangere Bridge Auckland. So I would say they are finding other locations to live in New Zealand.
