Pamukkale (Turkish for “Cotton fortress”) is a unique complex of mineral springs in southwestern Turkey, near the city of Denizli.Complex consists of the sources of hot and travertine limestone having odd shape shallow terraced pools generated by pouring mineral water and precipitation of minerals. At its spa built in the ancient city of Hierapolis in the 2nd century BC as a health resort. In Hjierapolisu are the remains of baths, temples and other ancient Greek and Roman monuments and the original early Christian building, which in 1988, along with a spa Pamukkale, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
