The streets of the city slightly descend to the sea. They highlight small white houses. This characteristic of the urban landscape made Althea a place of rest as a retreat for retirees.
The city has two ports, one fishing and another, the latter known as Club Nautico de Altea. Nearby is the seafront promenade which stretches over the second decade of the 21st century, which extends from the harbor to the old fishing village, with many shops, cafes, restaurants with summer terraces and a lively street market where they can acquire craft products , there are remnants of the castle and the church of Our Lady of Consuelo.
It is considered one of the most beautiful places on Costa Blanca.
