Nature Tuesday – Wenderholm Regional Park

On Sunday we went for a drive, first up to Orewa and further up to Wenderholm Regional Park.

As a child I remember swimming here with chrystal clear water.

This day is the height of summer and you can see how dry the grass is. You look out to islands of the Hauraki Gulf, and it is a very large park with a beach front.

There is a variety of birds but they weren’t on show today.

#1 Thrush

This Thrush walked up to me with no fear at all.

#2 Pohutakawa tree and view

This was near the car park

#3 Wenderholm beach activity

Even here there are life guards and it is best to swim between the flags. When I was a child there were no life guards.

Today people are not as careful and can get into trouble.

#4 View of Yacht

There is a river coming into the sea and this is it.
