Nature Tuesday – Rotorua Bird life

Mostly taken from the Jetty near where we stayed in Lake Rotorua. These birds visited me hoping for a a crumb and anything not snapped up was taken by fast moving seagulls.

I just put together some very friendly birds..

The Thumbnail one of a pair of Black Swans that visited me.

When animals visit you, it is a gift.

#3 Scaup

A rare type of Duck, I saw this by the town of Rotorua. Mostly they sit in groups sleeping on the water. I saw some on Lake Tarawera and also lake Taupo

#4 Seagulls on the Jetty

They sit like sentinels

They paid me a visit too.

On the whole I don't think the visits were only about food. These were just curious.

As always, animal pictures are great. I was fascinated by the second with black swans with a white spot on the back. I see it for the first time.

Seagulls on the jetty is my favorite, I can imagine what the sea gulls are talking about!

The black swan with the red beak are really fantastic, dear Pamela … I’ve seen the black seagull before but not the red beak

Wonderful photos!
Bring raw seeds and nuts with you when possible. It is good that animals do not feed on human food. This was advised by my friends – ornithologists.
