Each year my town enters a contest where the winning town or village in my area wins for the ‘best in bloom.’ I don’t think my town has ever won as it’s usually one of the smaller villages that wins the prize. But still, I think it’s really good what they do. As you can see from this one stand, there are 4 hanging baskets full of flowers and pansies, and also the bedding is full of colour. There are several of these around the town. There are also gardens with flowers and shrubs in them and railings with baskets of flowers in them.
At this time of year the town is really pretty with all the flowers that have been planted. A lot of hard work into making the town look so nice. Unfortunately this does not last, because as soon as autumn and winter arrive these are all removed. Although the stands themselves stay in place until next summer. Still, I am making the most of the pretty flowers and often sit on the bench opposite for a little while so I can get a nice view of them.
A beautiful town with some beautiful flowers. I wish we had competitions like that her.
