Monsanto contaminates Maui

Over the past few decades, Monsanto has used fields in Hawaii to test its herbicide-resistant seeds by spraying them with plenty of chemicals.  One of the fields that Monsanto possesses is in the wonderful island of Maui.  However, these chemicals are extremely toxic.

One of the chemicals that was used in the field in Maui is glyphosate.  Glyphosate is the main active ingredient in the weed killer Roundup.  However, there are over 19,000 lawsuits from around the world in which consumers have contracted cancer from using Roundup over an extended period of time.

In this incident, two separate families that resided less than 500 yards from the field have filed lawsuits in which the sprayed chemicals led to birth defects in each of their children.

The first lawsuit is due to a woman that was born 28 years ago with paralyzed vocal cords due to her throat not being connected to her stomach at the time of her birth.  This defect is medically known as esophageal atresia/tracheoesophageal fistula (EA/TEF).

The second lawsuit is due to a 17 year old young man that was born with a defective tube between his kidneys and his gall bladder.  To this day, the teen has limited kidney function.  This adolescent cannot even urinate correctly because of Monsanto.

As Maui continues to be sprayed by pesticides by Monsanto, more cases will occur.
