On Sunday, the Iran-Iraq borders were rocked, not by the guns of both countries’ military forces but by a massive Magnitude 7.6 Earthquake; leaving at least 210 people dead already while more than 1,700 others severely injured, tells the CNN.

The Press TV (Iran) confirmed that the small town of ‘Sarpol-e Zahab’ in the Kermanshah Province received the most casualties (100 out of total 210 dead so far) following the above said powerful 7.6 magnitude jolts, which the authorities had initially claimed to be a 7.2 magnitude earthquake.

It is feared that the death toll may rise further beyond these initial casualty count as the massive tremors were not only felt in Iran but all through the Iran-Iraq region, ensured the US Geological Survey, detailing further that the quake reached a depth of 23 km (a bit over 14 miles).

Countless building structures are reported to have either been crashed completely or have received severe damages as the impact of the quake was severe in nature. It is also reported that dozens of the quake victims were still being searched for; feared to have been trapped under the rubble of demolished buildings. Meanwhile, the jolts were felt even in some parts of Pakistan, Turkey, Kuwait and Lebanon.
