Lone Lily

I had posted this poem a couple of years ago, however the images associated with the post were no longer there. As I was working to update the post, I decided to turn it into a video. In addition to reciting the poem, the video format enabled me to utilize additional images and to integrate some sound affects as well. Check out the video below, and you’ll see what I mean.

Lone Lily by Christin F. Burton

A lone lily quiet, still. Resting in the sun until.

A rustling ripple ruined its rest. Causing lily to protest.

No one listened. There was no peace. It seemed the winds would never cease.

The waves heaved it up and down. The swirling winds spun it round.

When finally wind turned to a breeze, and all the chaos began to ease.

Lily smiled and once again showed its petals to it’s friends.
