Kosutnjak – A beautiful oasis for relaxation

Kosutnjak s a park-forest and urban settlement of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It was named after the hives that are believed to have been here sometimes. The park abounds in deciduous and coniferous trees. In Kosutnjak there are two specially decorated complexes: “Pionirski grad” – sports and recreation center, and “Film City” with a complex of ateliers and other facilities and devices for production of films.

Only a few kilometers from the center of the city is this wonderful place. From the bottom you can easily walk through the summit in half an hour. At the top you have a running track and numerous sports fields. The whole family’s weekends this place.

Big cities around the world, as the biggest treasure, are jealously guarding their park forests, and Košutnjak is one of the most important for Belgrade. Today, the park forest Košutnjak is under the jurisdiction of JP “Srbijašume”, Forestry holding “Beograd”. In April 2014, the Decision on the designation of the protected area “Forest Kosutnjak” was adopted. This natural good was declared a protected area as a monument of nature.
