Hawaiian Feather Duster Worm (2018-09-01 15-23-27a)
This really is a worm. It belongs to the same phylum (Annelida) as the earthworms. However this one dialed it up a notch in the looks department and lives on coral reefs.

The purple thing is not part of the worm. It’s an anemone.
The photo was taken at the PetCo store at 6236 North Western Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
I took the photo using a Google Pixel 2 XL smartphone and edited using Luminar 2018. I started by using the erase tool to get rid of some spots in the water and reflections from the aquariium light on the rock. Then I used RAW Develop to boost the contrast and clarity. I added the Accent-AI, Polarizing, Structure and Denoise filters and used the Brilliance/Warmth filter to increase the vividness and warmth.

Yikes, that is an amazing creature.
Shortly after I took the photo, it pulled the feathery part into the tube.
So beautiful, I begun to appreciate underwater creatures when I learned how to snorkel.
I always wanted to learn how to snorkel but there wasn’t much point living in Chicago.
I don’t go to very deep water and without my bf with me because I am not a good swimmer. He does.
It’s so beautiful underwater. Shoal of fish, octopus, corals, beautiful.

As much as I would love to, I live in Chicago so that’s not really an option.
Even I who live on a tropical island, I haven’t tried it.
