Common wood pigeon /Columba palumbus/.
Nis, one of the emblematic cities of Serbia.
In the center of the city, next to the river Nishava, there is an old fortress built by the Turks at the beginning of the 18th century and ranks among the best preserved in the Balkans.
It is now a wonderful park that combines history with a place of recreation for the inhabitants of Nis.
There we found a fairly large flock of wood pigeon.
They are bigger than urban pigeons and definitely have a different behavior.
Unfortunately, these birds have almost disappeared in Bulgaria and I enjoyed taking pictures of them.
