Common moorhen

Common moorhen (Gallinula chloropus).

Another species of bird inhabiting Lake Orestiada.

Adults have dark plumage, gray-black on the bottom and chest and olive-brown on the back.

With red plate on forehead and red beak with yellow tip.

They have a distinctive white strip on the side of the body.

This one is an adult bird.

The young ones are green-brown with a dirty white throat and no plate on the forehead.

She had found something of this stone and carefully tried to take it out 🙂
