This is the “Thrush!”. An import from England and yet a gardener’s best friend. It eats slugs, snails and worms, bugs and even the odd crust.
It sits on top of a tree and sings its song twice. Its got a good clear voice for tuneful singing.
The ancestors of the Thrush are from England. Yet, its quite a successful bird in New Zealand.
Farmers should be happy with their visits

It’s not very nice or exotic, but it’s useful for the garden, and you say it’s singing, which is very nice when listening to singing birds.

We have several species of thrush in the US.
