At one time 4 tons of Copper a day was produced here from 1857 into the early 1900s.
There are remnants of the mines and operation structures throughout the area. The waters behind the small dam is said to be where ore would be cleaned before transport.
I wonder what rocks are under the reeds, discarded from times past.
Down there is where the old mine ruins are…

Not much is left, but you could really feel the history.
This blue Damselfly landed beside me! It was so beautiful against the colorful rocks. It was a perfect ending to the day. Hope you enjoyed our little hike.
