Yes, We Have No Bananas

This post about odd things washed up on beaches just had to include the hit novelty song of 1923 “Yes, We Have No Bananas Today”. How could there be bananas if upon the shores of Terschelling in the Netherlands bananas were all over the beach? It happened after six huge crates of bananas went overboard from a ship heading for Cuba.

People must attempt to find their soul mates in the strangest possible ways. Maybe they think that forces from the heavens above might help them. People in Oakville, Ontario discovered a stack of rocks upon a beach that had personal messages inscribed on them like asking if their soul mate was out there somewhere. Do you suppose this could be divine intervention and you could really find your soul mate this way?

Some poor robot somewhere is missing a hand. Near Staten Island, New York a mechanical prosthetic hand was washed ashore. If you know the robot do give him a call.

Once rockets go up they eventually also come down. Pieces of one of the SpaceX Falcon 9’s crashed rockets were found on a beach in Elbow Bay in the Bahamas. They do say it is better in the Bahamas.

The ship known as Navagio has become a tourist attraction in Greece. It was built in 1937 for the purpose of smuggling cigarettes. In the 1980s the ship was destroyed during a massive storm while trying to get away from the Greek Navy. It now sits on a beach in Navagio Bay.

  1. Way cool post! The mechanic hand would of given me a scare. Imagine, quietly strolling down the beach looking for cool shells, then see that. yikes. Bananas are more my style, now that would be a find. 🤣
