I reckon that this artwork is worth its place on the wall – there is a lot going on here and you could look at it for a long time with considerable interest.
It was an exhibit at this year’s Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London. The title is “Babel Britain” and it is clearly a modern version of Tobias Verhaecht’s “Tower of Babel”. The creator of this work is Emily Allchurch.
The medium is an interesting one, being a transparency that is mounted on an LED lightbox. To own one of the 20 copies being offered for sale, you would have to cough up £12,000.
I do like this one. It is a work of art you can look at and see so many different and unusual details.
The mention of the Tower of Babel reminds me of its connection to the internet.
