I ran into a situation last night that led to me do research on the distance allowed to park within a fire hydrant. As you see there is discoloration on the pavement which led me contemplating should I take the chance or not. I ended up not parking in this spot because I found that you cannot park within 15′ feet of a fire hydrant. I may have gotten away with it, but I did not want to take any chances of getting a ticket. What would you have done? There actually is enough space for the firefighters to get in there, but better safe than sorry.
