What his Mother Wanted

Alzheimer’s makes life a little more interesting. He knows I am his wife and he wants to please me. However, he remembers things that his mother always wanted and he was unable to provide her. He took good care of her after his father left her. He made sure she had all she needed. But he wasn’t able to give her all she wanted.

Today he found some pretty dishes. He was certain that I wanted them. He gathered his change and asked if I could help him get the  “ordered up”. While I don’t “need” pretty dishes, I “need” him to feel good about himself and his accomplishments.

I will love these new pretty dishes.
