If there is one benefit of serving in the United States Navy is that the skills like learning how to swim always come in handy when an emergency arrives to save someone who is in trouble.
United States Navy veteran Michael James is being credited for using his skills that he learned during his time serving our nation to assist a woman driver who hit a guardrail on a road in Belleville New Jersey which caused her auto into the Passaic River and a case of a possible tragic event by drowning since the woman driver admitted that she could not swim.
Michael was in the same area where the auto accident happened. When Michael saw what happened, he used his swimming skills to jump into the Passaic River and grab the hand of the woman driver who was above the river inside her auto before it would go under the river.
Michael was able to save the woman driver to shore where the local police were able to get both of them out of the river safe and sound.
Both Michael and the woman that he rescued were taken to a local hospital to be treated for hypothermia but they will be okay after their adventure in the Passaic River.
What an incredible story once again. The lady was lucky somebody saw her and saved her.

Wow amazing rescue story. Just like this woman I do not know how to swim, but I also do not know how to drive so it would be a double whammy for me if ever I fall into a river. This woman was indeed very lucky to have such a good samaritan US Navy veteran who went above and beyond the call of duty in order to rescue her. I hope he gets another medal…
I am sure that Michael James will be rewarded for doing his duty in New Jersey by his superiors.
