This is Why I Can't Watch TV

Poor AG Whitaker! I can’t figure out if the members of the committee just don’t understand English or if they think that if they bully someone enough they will give in. Mr. Whitaker made it clear that he would not talk about any on going investigations, that is against the rules. He said he would not talk about what he and the President of the United States discussed because that has to do directly with National Security. They raked him over the coals and before it was over I was screaming at the television.

The only thing that made me smile was when  he said “Mr. Chairman, I see that your five minutes is up, so…” Whitaker replied as the hearing room broke out in gasps. “I am here voluntarily. We have agreed to five-minute rounds.”

After watching every painful moment again I came to the conclusion that like most things, this had nothing to do with AG Whitaker. It had everything to do with the committees desire to impeach the sitting President of the United States, financially ruin AG Whitaker for serving our country in the position, and making a mockery of their committee.

It is time to stop throwing rocks and simply do the jobs they were elected to do. There was one and only one question that was with the scope of the hearing. It was to give a report on what the Department of Justice had done to stop gun violence in the United States.

These are truly scary times when politics matters more than justice and American citizens appear to be powerless.

  1. First I respect your right to post.

I disagree with your assessment. It is a little one-sided. Both sides have continued to create and cause problems.

The president of the United States said out loud in front of a television camera that the Speaker of the House of Representatives was bad for America.

No president has ever done that. In the history of this country.

Based on that is there any wonder we are at an impasse? Teddy Roosevelt called the President of the United States the owner of the Bully Pulpit.

We have to post responsible things as writers. We cannot ask others to change if we do not.

There are two sides to every story.
