The quietest room in the world (in which no one has served for more than 45 minutes)
According to the Guinness Book of Records, Orfield Laboratories in South Minneapolis is home to the “quietest place on earth”. The laboratory is called an anechoic chamber, which means that in this room there is no echo, because it absorbs 99.99% of the volume. Different manufacturers use it when testing svojh products and sound quality, but it is also possible to visit and tourism, and land on the challenge to try to stay normal in it for more than 45 minutes. Founder and president Steven Orfield enjoys that challenges visitors to sit in this room alone in the dark – as long as possible, and the previous record was 45 minutes. Most people leave the room after 20 minutes because they can no longer handle such a silence, as the room they hear sounds that have never been – the sound of your own body, like the sound of the heart,
One of my previous places of work – which made communications systems – had one of these. However, I never spent any time in it!
